Big Zombie Tour Part 1 | Castleberry HillAtlanta Movie Tours 327 Nelson St SW Atlanta, Ga
We were long overdue, but it was time….time to take the Big Zombie Tour with Atlanta Movie Tours! This is the ultimate must-do tour for fans of The Walking Dead. Part 1 focuses on film scenes based in Atlanta and Part 2 focuses on scenes based in Senoia (pronounced /Sa NOY/ for those who’ve never been!)
I’m torn…torn between telling you every juicy detail of this AWESOME tour and not spoiling it for you when you go yourself! It was incredible! We took our two teens (17 and 19) and they loved it also!!
So, what I’ve decided to do is tell you about a few highlights that I personally loved…which should whet your appetite for more! Before I do that, I want to repeat what I said about the Girl on Fire Tour: What makes a tour with AMT the #1, superior place for movie tours are their tour guides!! Our TWD tour guide was Charlie “Chaz” Leach…he’s been in a number of movies as an extra (including Goosebumps, which is coming out soon!) You might remember him in TWD…but I’ll let him tell you where he showed up…the story is best coming from him! He’s a great storyteller, and he is amass with information about TWD and other movies and movie moguls around Atlanta. The guides make the tour, and this was no exception!
OK…three favorite places on this tour…
Remember at the end of S4/beginning of S5 when the team was trapped in a rail car?? We saw the rail car and the platform where the shoot out took place!
My second favorite place may or may not be on your tour…it only depends on how timely everyone on the tour are. It’s also from Season 5, although that is just an anomoly…many of the filming locations we saw were from the first 2 seasons…it’s the CDC! But not the real CDC in Altanta…you might know this better as the Cobb Energy Center!
My very favorite was at the end of the tour…a shot from Jackson Street Bridge! We were touring on a rainy day, which meant our photos didn’t look too much like the movie, but we had fun still!
Adventuring with tweens and teens? Looking for a daytime “date night” adventure? Either way, Atlanta Movie Tours is a blockbuster! I highly recommend it!
Here are a few more photos from our tour. Can you name the scene from TWD??
Disclosure: Thank you to Atlanta Movie Tours for the complimentary tickets. While we appreciate their generosity, it did not impact my opinion here. I still LOVE AMT and recommend them diligently! #keepingitreal
