25+ Of The Best Places to Take Pictures with Santa in Atlanta

As soon as Halloween is over, it’s time to find the best places to take pictures with Santa! Here’s a round up of where to see the jolly man in red (or green). If you’re looking for an African American Santa, we have those listed too. Unless otherwise noted, there are no fees to visit with Santa, but professional pictures are additional.

 Note for the attractions, there is a fee to enter, but visiting with Santa is free with admission.

Pictures with Santa in Atlanta Area for Christmas

Phipps Plaza

Normally you have to book this Santa in July, but there are still reservations available. You cannot walk up and visit with the Phipps Santa, so make sure you get a scheduled appointment time for your visit and photos. Here’s a little about our visit with this Santa.


The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta

Santa will be on hand for the tree lighting, caroling and storytelling. (Pictures with Santa Rick – a GREAT Santa – will be free) November 19, 2016 from 7 pm – 9 pm 

Westside Provision Shopping District

Snow will be falling outside of Seed Factory, where Santa will be available for complimentary family photos. In addition, enjoy holiday caroling, a photo booth, fine retail, sweet treats and a craft market. There will be a special appearance with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta mascots Hope and Will from noon to 2 p.m. and shoppers can get into the spirit of the season by bringing a book to donate to CHOA. Saturday, December 3, 2016. 10am – 4pm

Ponce City Market

Ponce City Market is offering complimentary photos with Santa, no appointment required. Santa’s Village will be set up for your on-the- go moment with Saint Nick and Santas will be walking around Ponce City Market with selfie sticks, spreading holiday cheer. This is all part of a month-long celebration takes place from November 25th through Christmas Eve, December 24th.

Something unique? Beginning on Nov 24th when The Grinch will crash into Ponce City Market’s very own Whoville on his sleigh with Whos and Max the Dog in tow. Take your photo with The Grinch and help grow his small heart three sizes in time for the Roast Beast Feast.


Christmas at Silver City Farm

Go back in time with your family this Christmas, in Cumming at Silver City Farm. A gourmet breakfast is included in your ticket price. There’s also live music and cookie decorating. You’ll spend time with Santa for the ultimate photo (and a little time to remind him of your holiday list.) You’ll go home with a printed photo and memories to last a lifetime. Dec 3, 2016 9am – noon.


Atlantic Station

Santa will be visiting Atlantic Station in Central Park nestled against the 50-foot tall tree.  Children can share their holiday wish list and get a professional photo taken with Santa this season. Families can also take their own photo with Old St. Nick for an optional $10 donation. All proceeds go to City of Refuge. Vinings Jubilee

Visit the 2016 annual Vinings Jubilee Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec 1, from 6-8pm, when the area at Tower Stage fills with families, friends and snow, marking the start of the holiday season. Yuletide traditions return this year including local music, dance performances, and plenty of family fun and activities. Of course no Vinings Jubilee Christmas Tree Lighting is complete without Santa! The Santa Express Train will be in session all evening long and Santa will arrive for family pictures and to take note of children’s holiday wishes. Free.


The Avenue Forsyth

Enjoy complimentary horse drawn carriage rides and photos with Santa. Photos with Santa will take place in The Park. See website for more details.


Stone Mountain Christmas

Each evening Santa makes his grand entrance during the 6 pm parade and greets children until the Snowfall Celebration begins. There is a fee to enter Stone Mountain Christmas, but no additional fee to see Santa (although pictures are extra and you may not use your own camera).


Candlelight Tours at Atlanta History Center

Ho-ho-ho! Grab your camera and get ready to photograph the family while your crew visits with Old Saint Nick. Santa is available for snaps during Candlelight Tours on Dec 9 & 16; 6:30-9:30pm in the Garden Overlook. This is just one of several exciting events happening during this time. See more here.

Get your photo with Santa for free at Bass Pro Shop Santa’s Wonderland. Avoid waiting in line by using Bass Passes, available on a first come, first serve basis starting with the first hour of Santa’s wonderland each day.


Atlanta Falcons Game – Toys for Tots Event

Georgia Dome Sunday, December 18th – Gates open at 2:00 PM; Game starts at 4:05 pm
Santa Rick will be on hand from the time the gates open collecting toys for Toys for Tots and taking free pictures with fans.

Santa at Avalon

Pet Photos with Santa: November 27 and December 11 from 7-8 p.m. Pets are family too! Shoppers are invited to bring their furry friends to have photos taken with Santa during the festive season. Guests should use Entry 4 and refrain from bringing reptiles or exotic animals. Advance registration on Eventbrite is recommended.

Caring Santa: December 4 from 9:30-11 a.m. Caring Santa is a private event designed for children and young adults with special needs and their families to have an opportunity to visit Santa and have their photos taken. This December, guests can look forward to breakfast, holiday crafts and quality time with the man in red. Reservations are required to attend. To reserve a spot, visit Eventbrite.


Georgia Tech Alumni – Metro Atlanta

This is your opportunity to get the family portrait taken with Buzz! These photos are perfect for your family Christmas cards. Your professional, high quality digital photo will be emailed to you for your unrestricted use after the event. Photos will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis but families who pre-pay will be given priority in line upon arrival.

All funds raised benefit the North Metro Scholarship Fund. $25/family

Photos with Santa: November 7 – December 24. Santa will be available daily in the Macy’s Court, mall level, first come-first served, no reservations needed.


Scottsdale Farms

Caring Santa: December 4 from 8:30-10 a.m. Caring Santa is a private event designed for children and young adults with special needs and their families to have an opportunity to have their photos taken with Santa. Mall of Georgia has made necessary adjustments to the environment to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs of children of all abilities for this special event. The event will be held during private mall hours in the Von Maur Court in order to provide a calmer, sensory-friendly environment. Due to this, families are asked to enter the mall using the Main Mall Entrance in between bebe and Bachrach. Guests can register in advance on Eventbrite.


North Georgia Premium Outlets

Photos with Santa: November 18 –December 24; Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. –9 p.m. (Santa feeds reindeer from 2-3 p.m. and 5-6 p.m.); Sunday from 11 a.m. –7 p.m. (Santa feeds reindeer from 3-4 p.m.)

Caring Santa: November 20 from 10:30 a.m. –Noon and December 4 from 9-11 a.m. Caring Santa is a private event designed for children and young adults with special needs and their families to have an opportunity to visit Santa and have their photos taken. Town Center at Cobb will make necessary adjustments to the environment to support the sensory, physical and other developmental needs of children of all abilities for this special event. Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Meet Saint Nick clad in his dark green robe and botanical head wreath Saturdays. Bring a camera to take your own photos. Save some time for a spin around the Great Lawn on the Botanical Express Ride-on-Train!


Georgia Aquarium

For the tenth year in a row, guests can catch sight of SCUBA Claus diving into Ocean Voyager Built by The Home Depot and swimming among the whale sharks, manta rays and thousands of fish during the dive shows every Thursday through Sunday until December 25. If you’d rather see Santa on the other side of the water, he has scheduled times in the Georgia Aquarium atrium. There’s more than just Santa!


Magical Nights of Lights

Once again, Santa will be flying in just before Thanksgiving and staying until Christmas Eve. Pictures are extra. Enjoy playing in the snow after visiting with Santa at the Winter Adventure.


Rhodes Hall Christmas

Skip the long lines at the mall and come to Rhodes Hall for a fun, easy and enjoyable Santa experience. On weekends “the castle on Peachtree Street” will be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring holiday entertainment, delicious refreshments from area caterers, music, art activities and, best of all, personal appointments with Santa at Rhodes Hall. There is even a pet day.
