Radial is a small, much beloved restaurant with a heart for the environment. You’ll find local, organic fare that includes vegan and gluten-free options. On a large board in the seating area you’ll find a list of what is being served organically. Also, you’ll find wastebaskets for composting and recycling.
All of this is grand, but only if the food is delicious too. Luckily, it is AWESOME. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner…we went for a weekend brunch. I had bacon, biscuits, vegetarian gravy, fried eggs (which were divinely bright yellow/orange…a sign of great free-ranging.) We also had gluten-free pancakes, cheese and bacon grits, and pumpkin muffins. We had plenty to eat, and plenty to take home with such huge servings.
There is table service outside for warm-weather dining. I recommend calling ahead on the weekends. We waited almost an hour for a seat at brunch (although it was well worth it.)
Here’s the best part…KIDS EAT FREE every weekday. Every stinkin’ one. Woot!! The final thing I want to mention is that I have seen only kudos for the food, but a few nasty remarks about the service. From the hostess to the waiter, we were treated wonderfully. No complaints from me!
