I visited the new Gainesville location of Atlanta Botanical Gardens with the boys. Here are six reasons for you to visit, too!

Affordable tickets. Ticket prices are much more affordable at this location so it is easier to stop in for a short visit. If you are annual members of the main location like my family then admission here is also free.

Model train. My little men are train freaks! So we loved watching the model train at this location.

Family programming. Share a box of toy trains in front of the Model Train Garden, listen to stories or musical performances, or watch your little budding artist create during the family programs at the garden.

A water fall and swings. When we visited, my boys most enjoyed the cascading water through the walkway and the various swings dotted around the park. I packed several books in our pack and we read them on the swing. it was a nice peaceful time with the sound of water in the background.

Hiking. Enjoy a short and easy walk through the back of the garden on a woodchip trail.

Concerts in the Garden. Bring your lawn chair for an experience in the woodlands listening to tunes during Concerts in the Garden at the amphitheatre.

If your boys like model trains, check out the display at Vines Botanical Gardens in Gwinnett County, one of the Gwinnett County Parks. I think they only run them on Sunday, but I am sure you can check out the detains on their website. Just looking at the display is amazing!
