The boys and I recently checked into The Chattanoogan Hotel for the third time… it gets better every time we visit. We’ve stayed at 8-10 other Chattanooga hotels over the last decade and The Chattanoogan is the best, without question.
Read on about why we love it here!
Located off Broad Street on the Westside, you are in an ideal location to experience the greatness of Chattanooga. You’re right down the street from the Chattanooga Choo-Choo (my boys love the trolley tour,) The Hot Chocolatier (the iced white chocolate is my favorite!!) Urban Stack (with the most amazing hamburgers and cocktails) and Warehouse Row (for perfect shopping!)
I love the decor at The Chattanoogan…it’s brighter and more fun than standard hotels..and that goes a long way with us! Each room includes a Keurig and mini fridge, as well.
Since it was just me and the boys for a single night, we stayed in a standard room. If you have a larger family or you’re making an extended stay in Chattanooga then consider their suites.
The Courtyard Suite includes a King bedroom, and the living area has a sleeper sofa. There is also a dining area, plus an oversized jetted tub and rain shower.
The Mountain View Suite is even more spacious and offers stunning views of Lookout Mountain.
I’m not going to lie – this is a HUGE benefit for us! My boys are very active, and they always do better in a hotel with a pool. It allows us to “get the wiggles out” at night before bed and sleep more soundly.
The pool is indoor and heated. It’s fairly shallow so that my youngest (new swimmer) can stand on his own. There is also a whirlpool at one end.
They boys love that the pool “glows” with bright colors of blue and purple in the evening, making night swims even more fun.
The pool is located in the same space at the fitness center and spa. And are you ready for this? They offer a Family Spa Day!! We haven’t tried it yet (kids need to be 6 or older) but it looks AMAZING!!
If you just want to escape by yourself, there are wonderful options here, as well. Massages, facials, manicures and more.
Broad Street Grille
There are other dining options inside The Chattanoogan, but Broad Street Grille is the one we favor. (Side note: You can dine here without being an overnight guest!)
There is a great weekly lunch buffet and a HUGE brunch on Sundays. We opted for dinner and a weekday breakfast on this visit, though.
For dinner the boys ordered off the kiddo menu – one had a burger and the other a flatbread (aka pizza) .. and both were devoured in five minutes flat! (That’s the swimming pool at work again, also!)
I went for the crispy gnocchi, sitting on a bed of collards. It was amazing…so Southern..and filling. In fact, the portion was very large, and I had to take some back tot he room with me (the perfect midnight snack.)
Other selections include steak, salmon, chicken, sandwiches, salads and flatbreads. There are super sides like collards, Gouda mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole (divine!!) and more.
The boy’s favorite part – ok, mine too – was dessert. At our table we received a small cast iron skillet filled with melted chocolate and topped with roasted marshmallows. Along side, graham crackers, of course!
We also enjoyed the HUGE breakfast buffet the next morning…fruits, muffins, cereal, eggs, French toast, biscuits…what a spread! It’s a GREAT way to kick off a day of adventuring!
