Cook’s Warehouse Offers Great “Retro” Gifts This Season

Cook’s Warehouse is a great place to grab gifts for those on your list – from fun stocking stuffers to grand gifts like a Big Green Egg or Jura coffee maker (hint, hint Santa.)

One of my favorite “experience gifts” include cooking classes like the ones offered at their multiple stores.

I met with them recently to get a sneak peek at some of their new and/or recommended gifts, and I noticed a trend…a nod to the 70s…only BETTER.

While Mad Men may no longer be airing, Mid Century Modern design and décor are everywhere. I’ll admit to having it in my own home, too. It’s great! So let’s take a look at what is new and great out there this season.

Fondue. It’s making a comeback…cheese, chocolate…how can you go wrong? The Swissmar Lugano set is great. It’s heavy so you don’t have to worry about spills. It’s also cast iron, which means you can start it on the stove for easier prep.

Crock Pots. Do you remember when your mom started cooking with a crock pot? And now we’ve moved into the world of multi cookers, which have certainly changed the game. You may know about Instapot, but I love the Fagor Multicooker. It takes 70% LESS TIME to get to temp!

Barware. Craft cocktails and fancy bar ware are certainly a nod to the 70s. You may know Riedel glassware – they are my personal favorite and the family that “invented” the wine glass as we know it. This year’s new bar ware collection is beautiful, too. It’s the Nachtmann Punk Cocktail collection.

Pro Tip: Reidel also offers a Coca-Cola Glass, specifically designed to enhance your Coke experience. It’s the perfect gift for your Atlanta-lover!

Bar Tricks. While you need amazing barware, you don’t want the glass to be more memorable than the cocktail. Take your mixology game up a notch with The Smoking Box. Simply mix your Manhattan, add it to the cold smoker for a minute or two, and the result is delicious! You can also use it to smoke cheese, nuts, tuna, and more!

Chenille. Chenille is a texture we don’t hear about much anymore, but we should! It is super absorbent, which means it’s great in the kitchen. Shaggies were created by a woman who used to cut up her old chenille bed spreads once they were no longer “pretty!” Now, you can enjoy it without all the work.

Monograms. Monograms were HUGE in the 70s (ok – maybe they never went OUT of style here in the South) but you can embrace this retro trend in the kitchen now with monogramed cutting boards. They come pre-packaged for beautiful gift-giving when you get them at Cook’s Warehosue.

Can’t make up your mind? Just want it all? Consider a Cook’s Warehouse Giftcard, too! Many of these items are on their website, but ALL of them can be found in the stores.
