Sweet Auburn Market is the site of one of the worst city fires since Sherman came to town, now rebuilt and thriving. First established in 1918, it is Atlanta’s oldest market. Bringing the kids is a wonderful experience. Check out the produce, meats, and seafood. There are parts, pieces, and veggies here that can only be seen in specialty markets. There is a bakery and a praline shop. Even a little used book store with kids books! After hunting and browsing, it’s a great place for lunch. There are a number of restaurants, but I have to admit that the BBQ is my favorite! The parking lot is behind the market. If you purchase at least $5 in merchandise, the vendor can validate your parking. The first hour is free.
