P is for “parks,” and we’ve got some great ones for summer here in Georgia. Here are five that you must make a priority this season during this installation of Summer Activities A-Z.
Six Flags Over Georgia is a great delight with so much family fun for all ages. Hard to believe I have been going for 30+ years! With the brand new Justice League: Battle for Metropolis and accompanied with family rides and thrill rides there is great fun to be had. Then hop on over to Hurricane Harbor to have more wet family fun. Six Flags is definitely a day of fun from sun up to late into the night. Six Flags Over Georgia offers so much more than just a day in the park. Be sure to check out their FAQ and calendar of events.
Six Flags White Water is water family fun to the max! There is literally something for every age. Imagine a family fun day at the pool on 100. Well, that is what you get a Six Flags White Water. From the new additions of Dive Bomber and Wahoo Racer to seasoned fun with the Atlanta Ocean Wave Pool, Bahama Bob Slide and Captain Kid’s Cove you will be pleasantly pleased! Then they have Dive In Movie events which are a big hit.
Stone Mountain is historic and magical in its own right. The Laser Show 2.0 is AMAZING! Whether you are exploring the mountain top trekking through treetops on SkyHike or getting up close and personal with the Stone Mountain Carving there is near a dull moments. There is so much to do at Stone Mountain and my favorite is the Laser Show. Explore the park and activities. Find your family fun zone and consider an event or two.
Centennial Olympic Park is a very nice downtown Atlanta park with a grand olympic legacy. Have family fun here while learning the history and legacy of the Summer Olympics from 1996. Experience the fountain of rings and take in a concert while visiting. Wednesday Winddowns are always epic as well.
Old 4th Ward Park is a parents heaven! This park is perfectly designed with sections of enjoyment for all ages. It actually starts at Ponce City Market and continues to Freedom Parkway. The playground is AMAZING and family fun is had year round. When you think of an all purpose park you cannot help but want to explore here. This is also home to Atlanta’s first Skate Park.
