Indoor Waterparks in Ga
Although Georgia doesn’t have an indoor water park like Great Wolf Lodge, we do have indoor pools, that offer more than just water to splash around in. Here are a couple of indoor swimming pools that are more like mini-water parks than just the standard swimming pool. If you know others, leave us a comment and let us know.
What: South Cobb Aquatic Center
Where: 875 Six Flags Dr. Austell, GA | 770-739-3180
The South Cobb Aquatic Center is moments off I-20, just a few miles from Six Flags Over Georgia. There is a zero entry portion for the little ones, a free swim area and diving board for the real swimmers. In addition, a lazy river, three story slide and play structure including silly shower, dump tank, small slide and waterfall. The facility is nicely kept, locker rooms are clean and include showers, bathrooms and lockers. There is also a family bathroom. The facility also offers a birthday party room.
What: Bethesda Park Aquatic Center
Where: 225 Bethesda Church Road, Lawrenceville | 678-924-6334
Bethesda Park Aquatic Center features an indoor leisure/water park pool with beach entry, giant waterslide that exits and then reenters the building, river channel, hydrotherapy benches, water play structures, vortex, ceiling spray, and a four-lane instructional pool and wet classroom; plus water basketball and volleyball. They do require parents to be in a bathing suit in the water with young children and everyone needs to pay regardless of whether or not you are swimming, but the price isn’t bad, especially for a day of fun that will wear everyone out. I was told last year that admission is half price one hour before closing, but have not been able to confirm that – so if you go late, might want to ask.
What: Bogan Park Aquatic Center
Where: 2723 North Bogan Road, Buford 30519 | 770.614.2063
Although we haven’t been to Bogan Park Aquatic Center, this looks like another fabulous indoor waterpark in Ga.
This pool offers swimming lessons to the public, but otherwise, you must be a member or guest to enjoy this pool, which was constructed for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Memberships are available to anyone with an affiliation to Georgia Tech, student, faculty or even alumni. The pool area features the leisure pool which is comprised of six-25 yard lanes, a 184′ water slide, current channel (or what I call a lazy river), free form play area, 16-person spa. Garage doors open to make this an indoor/outdoor pool in the summer.
